LONDON? BERLIN? BARCELONA?
“London still best place in Europe to start a tech company” according to entrepreneurs and investors at this years’ Business Funding Show.
The Business Funding Show, held in Canary Wharf last month, brought together more than 1350 investors, innovators and entrepreneurs under one roof.
It was no wonder that the show was so well attended, as it attracted top lenders and VCs from all over the UK as well as speakers such as Channel 4’s Secret Millionaire Mike Green and BBC Apprentice Winner Mark Wright who shared his entrepreneurial journey with the audience.
In a survey of delegates at the Show carried out by Granted Consultancy Ltd - UK and EU Grant Specialists - 76% predicted that the UK would either remain the same or become stronger for investment post Brexit - a view shared by Ana Botin, boss of Santander and one of the world’s most influential bankers*.
In fact, 92% of delegates said that they would advise start-ups to set up a business in London ahead of other European cities.
The reasons for this were numerous, with London cited as a Global, financial and investment hub and many delegates commenting that it is a cosmopolitan and multicultural city with a vibrant tech community and a dynamic place to start up.
It’s no wonder then that here at Granted Consultancy, we are optimistic about the future, and have just opened new offices in London’s Fleet Street in response to increased demand for grant writing specialists from the Capital’s entrepreneurs and innovative businesses.
